Does it matter much between choosing a vented or unvented motor?

I prefer vented motors to allow any moisture to escape. Although minimal, the rotor does create airflow within the motor and this does help cool the rotor. It's also allows some natural convective cooling to take place after a run.Tyler Garrard

an other thing to go for a vented motor ,i use a cpu fan on the back of the motor to create a perfect storm in the motor.i use a tp 4070 1400kv 7s in a mono with a fan on the back and with water and air cooling the highest temp i've seen is 22C on the motor (prop abc 2015-19)Comment

Unless you're filling your hull with sand at athe beach vented is the way to go for all the reasons already mentioned. However personally I wouldn't take the financial hit selling second hand sealed cans to get new vented ones.Paul Upton-Taylor, Greased Weasel Racing.Comment

If you have a drill press and the skill, you could vent them your self. I have done this on some motors. You need to remove the front and rear covers to do it or you will destroy the windings.Nortavlag Bulc
