    Removing water jacket ?

    Hi all just recieved a used 2845 b/l motor that has a water jacket that looks like its been epoxyied in place ? Whats the best method of removing the glue and jacket without scratching the motors can ? Regards Andris Golts.

    Epoxy gives up with a bit of heat but heat and motor windings don't mix past 180F. Maybe spray in some wd40 into the jacket and let sit a couple days and see if it chews away at it???

    Someone else will have a better idea.

      Freeze it for a day then tap at it with wood to break epoxy???

        That was my first thought, cold before heat. Possibly even some C02 compressed air sprayed directly on the epoxy as well.
