Motor rated max 44V. Can I use 12s?

    Hi,

The topic is about leopard 56110 780kv and use of 12s

    The specs of motor:

The max voltage is rated 44V. I've been told to count 1 batterycell as 3,7V, so 12s x 3,7v = 44,4V. So the max. limit is exeeded by 0,4v. This should be ok?

BUT I recently red a data log from swordfish on the Internet, where 12s were used. And the "min. Voltage" was registered 46,2v. So this means 3.7V each cell is wrong? 46,2 was the lowest voltage registered.

On other hand, I have heard motors can tolerate some more than what the specs would suggest. But a little expensive to just hope that the motor/esc/batteries will survive, when the components are so expensive

The 'safe setup on a motor of that size with that Kv is 10s. 12s has and is done but longevity will likely suffer.
My 12s runs are more like 48volts. But I have GOOD packs.
