New 75k RPM TP 4070 motor...

    Hey guys,

Any of you check get a chance to test these out yet? :)

    Pretty interesting.

I wonder what they are doing differently here than their regular tp4070's, etc.

It's most likely JUST better bearings and enamel wire and magnets capable of higher temps. But what purpose would this have for boats?

Probably a sleeved rotor as well. 4-8S time trial boats. 2200kV would be a killer 4S heat race motor.

There is no need for a 75,000 rpm motor for FE (even Joerg didn't spin past 64,000) except as headroom. This means the potential for higher reliability in high amp/high rpm applications. On 8S the 2200 motor would probably turn around 55,000 rpm under load, but on 6S it would make more sense as a SAW motor. As a 4S oval motor it would be awesome, but I wonder if there would be enough difference for the average boater to notice....

Maybe I should order one. I could run that on 6s in my shocker. Right now it's at 100 on 8s with a 1650kv motor. So about 48k..... be about the same rpm (2200kv) on 6s but I could run 6s in parallel

What prop would y'all recommend if this went into a Cheetah on 4s2p for heat racing?

            Would a sf240 be enough?

A 240 might but on this hull with decent power I'd rather a 300 for a few bucks more unless you have the 240 already. A 1915 works well but may be a little aggressive so you could go with a 1914 or and 1815 or 1814. There's a new three blade that's comparable to the x447/3 but I forgot the number and I haven't tried it yet so I can't tell you if it's good or not.

You will probably find that those motors were developed for their EDF units. Some of those fans are designesd to run at up to 80,000 revs. So they need motors to spin them up to that range.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

I'm being lazy and haven't ordered one yet. I'm going to run one in a new build I'll be starting over the winter. The "cool" thing is I should be able to run it during the winter too. With my newly build and much improved new workshop that I'm also finished with I should be able to turn builds out much quicker. No more walking back and forth between two different work shops. Having stuff separated and divided out between two shops like that definitely slowed progress. During summer months I didn't even want to go in the non air conditioned shop unless I had to.

Possiblysimilar to the HET motors. Mine needs a thrust bearing because it WAS designed for EDF and edf's pull on the shaft and don't push it like we do.

                        Very important,,,

Hopefully it has the bearings setup to be used in boats.

I know what its like. My GF is 1.5 hours away and when I'm at my place there is always something I need from the other place. You think you're slow? I'm going backwards!

Well it gives you the option for a boat when you order.

Should be fine. I was led to think these were just for EDF's.
