I HAD THOUGHT A LEOPARD 4082 1450 KV OR 1600 KV MIGHT DO. NEW AT THIS AND DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE ADVANTAGE OR DISADVANTAGES
ARE OF D OR Y WINDS - WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP - THANKS

This is a subject that has been debated to death. IMO no advantage or disadvantage to either wind. Go with the RPM you prefer.

Have a club member running one of these hulls. He is running a 40X92 leopard that I believe is a 1480KV. Boats runs good but can't tell you what prop he is running as I don't know.

That's me. Running ABC 1815 15 rake. (46mm dia, 1.5 pitch ratio, swept back blades). Sometimes an Octura M447. Going about 55mph. I picked the 1480 for the RPM that I wanted, and the 4092 for its "strength". It came in a D wind. I use a Swordfish 220 Pro Plus ESC, on auto timing. Your 180 might be a little light, I get current peaks of 160.
