Last year I purchased two new Dynamite 2000kv motors, a 6 pole and a 4 pole version. Are these motors "Y" wound or "D" wound? Need to know for timing purposes.
Well, I know that you are reading my posts. My 6 pole motor is still NIB. I tried the 4 pole motor on 4 cells with Proboat 4016 prop (40mm x 1.6 ratio) in a 34" hull. Power was OK, nothing great, but the motor kept running too hot. Someone, on some forum, said that the motor was a "D' wind. Can't find it now, and don't know where he got that info. My ESC was probably set for 10 deg timing advance, which would have been OK for a "Y". Anyway, the boat is re-powered now, but I still want to find an application for one or both of those motors.
Can you tell me why you are sure that they are both "Y" wound?
I didn't know he was setting records this week. We now have two Zeloses (maybe that's Zeli) in our club. I wonder what the factory timing is. Should be around 0-3 degrees.
