    Death of a Neu 2230

I finally downloaded the last run of my Neu 2230 in my Twincraft that I was running in Namba Open mono. It was the last heat and really windy and wavy so I was just limping around trying to finish. I thought I burned it up going slow without propping down but I don't think so lol.
79,000 rpm did it in so I guess the collet slipped?

I know a guy on offshore selling one. Unused I think. I also think Neu stopped making them.

I sent it to Neu for repair, it was totally seized couldn't budge it. At first they thought I could get away with an armature but ended up having to send me a new motor with some credit applied for the fried one.
It was an MPB 8mm collet I guess I'm not tightening it enough (scared to strip it).

Whatever happened seems odd. If it threw a magnet the current would skyrocket but the RPM would stall. If the collet slipped, the PRM would skyrocket, but the current would go down. The RPM should never hit 79kRPM unless you are running 15S.

I would take it apart and check everything.

Posted a minute too late. The crazy data is just an error when the rotor stalled.
