    shorter motor wires...

    Hello.
    I want to ask if i can cut the motor wires and make them shorter??Its tooo long...
    Offcourse then i will scrape the wires and resolder....
    Is that right???

      I have shortened wires before. It is either very tedious or messy.

      You can scrape and not get it all or use chemical solution I have done. Chemicals are very dangerous, corrosive.

      Solution is 1part pure Lye, 4 parts table salt. Must use a cast iron tub to heat mixture. I don't recommend this, if you try it is at your risk to severe burns or worse injury.

          It depends on the motor. If the wires are part of the winding, do not cut them. It is too much trouble and most everyone I know who did this regretted it. Some motors like Castles and some Neus have silicon wires which are safe to shorten. Of course you can always shorten the motor wires on the ESC.
