    aquacraft 2030 motor question

I have an aq2030 in my mg29, last time out it started to cog really bad and died. Pulled it apart and found the wires in the can (windings) were burnt. I have a few 1800kv aq motors. What would happen if I took the rotor out of the 2030 and put it in the 1800 can? Does that make it 2030 or is that determined by the winding?
