5700 kv castle in Shockwave 26

Ive looked in forums to see if anyone else has done this, nope. Why not? Just like to know what yall think about it. 45 on 2s, 55 to 60 on 3s. Stock upgrade metal prop. Im running the castle esc also. I overpower everything ! Is there a drawback?

Have you actually done this yourself or are you asking if you should?

So your running 55-60mph on 3s? Video? 6s in a shockwave? How? That won't fit

No video yet, I see that you have a shockwave v3,green hull? I own both a v1 and v3. V1 has alot more room than v3.

I've owned a v1 and 2 v2's and they definitely don't have more room than the green one. I'd like to see a gps run of your boat. It took a lot of work getting mine past 60mph. I don't see how a 5700kv 14 series castle would push this boat to 60 on 3s. That motor has issues pushing a Exo terra buggy and the 1415 castle I have pushes the Exo just fine. So something seems a little off here....... What mods or changes did you do to the hull to handle that speed?

Here's mine so you can see it's quite stable. In stock form, you can forget it. It would not stay on the water.

Mr.Travis I love how you just keep inspiring us SW owners. Impressive! In my testing for getting up to 45-50mph I was wondering about steer and trim tab improvements and just noticed on your video you have done that. Would you mind sharing the part #'s and installation and positions you used? It would be greatly appreciated. Also what C ratings are the batteries you recommend.

I don't use anything below 50c on things that take regular size batteries.

                Here's the trim tabs.

You will have to drill new holes. Put a dab of sealer on the old holes. They will be covered by the new hardware. This mod is well worth it.

I thank you so much! I had a gut feeling that would improve it, but gut feelings don't work as well as knowledge! I bought 2 batts 35c when I started, I've used 50c in my cars, and now boat, as well as a Max Amp battery that I'm about to try in boat with 120 rated ESC.

Must be nice to have a lake nearby that actually has water in it

My local lake looks like a hawg sty.... literally, nice thick gooey mud & no water

I live near Chi-town where it has rained almost every day this month! Broke record from 1902! I'll try to send it your way. I've gone from Rc boats to an ark at this point! LOL

One thing to be especially careful of is heat. The loads for boating is significantly higher than what the motor may be able to sustain efficiently. I can provide a lot of background on the subject, but the point is to limit run-times significantly and track the motor temperature closely.

Personally I feel pretty confident that the 5700kv motor is way too high a kv for that boat and I'd be surprised if it didn't toast in 30-60 seconds. All the more reason I'd really like to see a video of it. Maybe with a very small prop it would work, I dunno. I still want to see this go.

                            The hell with the boat(s)...

My raggedy old body can't handle the triple digit heat wave that has been plaguing the west coast since?? I've been staying inside till night time. Checked the forecast last night, there's no end in sight

It's been breaking records left & right, kinda like the rainy weather in the Chi-town (guessing you mean Chicago) area

Maybe there is something to all the talk about climate change

I know you warned me of high temps with a 3300kv motor, which I haven't been able to test yet, but with a 5700kv I can definitely see your interest in how this guy was able to pull this off , and what mods he used. 6S? - I know where there's a will there's a way for mods, but will it work is the question!! Electronics up front, batteries on the sides? Now it's been 2 months and no video or reply?? High speeds and high temps go hand in hand! I know this from RC cars too. Hey trav, what's the name of that epoxy you use for waterproofing electronics?
