Is the Turnigy AquaStar 3974 2200KV a good motor?

Hi, can somebody tell me if this motor would perform good in the HK Pursuit. I run 4s and 5s, with the stock prop.

    Thank you!

Yes, it will out perform the stock motor, but 4s would be recommended, an X442 will give good speed. 5s may be pushing it with this motor. I had one and was happy with it's performance, and the quality was reasonably good. It is in a box somewhere now but only because the motor mount broke out (at full noise!) and the shaft got bent!

On 4s an m445 would do well too.

i bought the motor, and also a turnigy 180 amp esc to go along with it. what prop size should i get? i know you guys said X442 and m445, but what about grimracer 42x55, would it be good? Should i get different prop size than 42 mm? And is there a programming card for this esc?
        thanks!

If you don't mind to, get all three props, see which one goes best. I've found an x443 good for racing, so there's another option. Sorry didn't mean to make the choices harder. Yes you can get a program card for the esc, OSE has it in stock if you can't get it from hobbyking.

Hi, i already have the x442 and grimracer. But last night, i ordered a cnc x443, cnc x440/3, and cnc x442/3. I also bought the programing card from OSE.
Hopefully, all my stuff will get in soon and at the same time!

You will like the two 3 blade props that you have ordered.
That motor in that boat loves an Octura 440/3 prop & as the cnc props have slightly less width across the blades I feel that the 442/3 will work well. As Peter has found. But start with the 440/3 first.
I've been meaning to get the 442/3 to try on my Cyberstorm, which is practically the same hull.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Hi, i received my motor, and i would like to know what timing to use with this motor. It is a 2.5D winging.

thank you for your so much needed help!

D wind motors like low timing 5 degrees or below, if your running a T180a esc set it to 3.75 degrees.

Ok, thank you very much! Yes im running on the t180a. The default setting is 15 degrees. i probably would have burned something on that timing!

Is it possible to change the connectors on the motor? They are 4mm bullet, and i wish to change them for 5.5mm connectors.

Yes definitely change them to 5.5. You can unsolder the existing ones and solder on new, but don't cut the motor wires!
