    What's a good 6s capable motor?

I'm looking for a decent 6s capable motor. I was running a proboat 1500kv but she's finally toast. (It was 6yrs old and ran hard before I went to 6s in my new boat, still lasted 2 yrs on 6s) so I'm lookin to up grade. I only run for fun and am all about going fast. 200a esc, and x642 prop. Any advice would be awesome thanks!

I've been running the 1717's in a couple boats for quite some time and they are happy. That is 1577 kv. So something in this range is good. I have also been running TP's with Great success as well. So it depends what boat you have to power? If it is a case of replacing that PB 1500 then a 36mm can TP would be great.

Oh, ok. That is as bit heavier hull so don't be afraid to go with a 4074 size can. A 36 will do the job but stepping up to 40 will live longer. Nothing wrong with Leopard brand either.

Now about the kv rating, would alittle lower kv make a big difference from the 1500 I have if go with a lower kv but bigger can size? I was looking at a 4074 1400 on here but it sold, now I'm lookin at a 4092 1300? Titan 29 180a esc 642x prop on 6s, I only run for fun and love going fast

Big difference between the 4074 and the 4092. It isn't just about Kv. The longer motor will have much more torque and power for the same Kv....but it will draw more current. My oval racing 6S boats usually run a long 1250 Kv motor - they are fast, have good amp draw and enough torque to spin a big prop. Some club members - me included - tried 1500 Kv motors and decided that was too much for our oval racing. But we run in rougher water than most and big props work better. Others may be able to run higher Kvs without problems.

What hull? What battery capacity? Runtime? Speed expectations?

Titan 29, 180a esc, x642 prop, 6s 5000s, Id like to see 50mph or more but mid to high 40s I could live with, I run in rough water it's way more fun than calm water! I also want reliability and long lasting, my run time before the motor went was like 10-15 maybe never really checked, I only run for fun

IME the Titan can be a handful over about 45 mph. For that and higher speeds on 6S try a motor around a 4085 size with a Kv of around 1400 Kv. A great 6S motor is the HET 700-83-1445. A bit more costly than a Leopard it gives near-Neu performance at a lower price. It is also capable of powering larger boats as your interest grows. Props from an x642 through an x645 will get that Titan moving! Just watch the ESC temps. Realize that speed requires power, and that means higher amp draw and shorter run times.

I think you made a good call.... like Fluid says the Titan is a handful over 45mph... I've had a few of them too... anytime I upgraded the motor to go faster then the high 40's it became a constant kyak ride out to the overturned boat. I could make some adjustments to make it stay on the water more... but it always ruined its "happy speed" handling... The titan is a great 45mph boat though... nice scale lines and handles VERY well at those speeds... The 4074 1600kv is a good match for your 6s packs and should get you 50mph with the right prop... x445 might be a good one... but good choice on the motor, its about as much motor as you should put in the boat... and the KV will give you a perfect match for a good reliable 6s setup.
