    Toysport Triton XO-1 1717

So I bought the triton from bidder, he was running 4s2p for test and tune with the xo-1 1717 1650kv motor for only a couple short runs... the boat had never been ran much at all.... I knew I was going to run it on 6s :)

I have ran it a few times now, both on 6s 2p (two 5800mah zippy 30c's) and 6s1p with one 5800mah 30c... X447 prop with the old school hydra 240LV.

    Well here are my results:

6s2p the boat ran 64mph, but the weight was a bit much for the hull to handle well at all.... had a hard time getting the CG right.

6s1p the boat ran 63 mph, the temps came back as though the motor didn't participate in the run, motor temp was 88 degrees!!!!.... esc caps were only at 120 degrees, batt was about the same at 123 degrees..... this is a SOLID setup, running the pack pretty far forward made the boat run through the chop like a champ, and the boat still handled very well for a triton :) with the flood chamber, and keeping the runtime to 3 1/2 to 4 mins of a lot of fast passes I think I found a fantastic sport boat!

Long story short, these X0-1 motors with the slightly higher KV make for a outstanding 6s1p motor in the smaller boats.... I'm sure if it was a much bigger boat at all a 2p setup would be needed, but I am super happy with the setup, and I don't think I'll change a thing... I might try a x450 after I pop in a Turnigy 180 esc just so I don't overwork the hydra240... reason being the t180's I have all have extra cap banks and the hydra currently only has the stock (4) small caps.... but even then I am happy as is!

Just wanted to let everyone know how great these X0-1 motors work!

Pictures are in the for sale section as I bought it off Rcbidder just a month or so ago, it's Steve here at OSE's old boat...

Here is a vid though, sorry for the ending it eventually did self right just took about 45 seconds to do so, I need to add some lead to the left rear and it would self right quicker but I can wait, boat is very water tight... Water was a little choppy, the boat can take a beating as can be seen, toysports are great quality hulls. I actually was running in 4 feet deep ocean water the day before and submarined it into the ocean floor lol, made a tiny minuscule chip in the nose paint the size of an eraser head and zero other damage, I've already tumbled the boat many times and zero issues, strong as an OX these hulls are!

      Here is vid

This is on 6s1p 5800mah zippy 30c pack, x447 prop... I could probably bump up to a x450 I have on hand but it's plenty fast as is, and comes back with super cool temps, motor doesn't even break a sweat. The hydra 240 has no cap bank just the factory capacitors, If I tried the x450 I'd swap in a v2 seaking 180 with a cap bank just to be safe. I think the hydra 240 on 6s is at it's limit especially when the stock puny 4 caps, though temps on the esc haven't exceeded 125 degrees on the caps...

Yea the 1717 is a great motor with lots of power. Had one in a cheetah. Did 62 on 6s but that was before I knew what I do now. Good stuff
