cutting down esc wires that go to motor??

I'm getting a swordfish 240 esc and I've read that some people cut the motor wires down so they are real short.. How does this help??

You can cut the wires coming off the ESC to the motor, shorter wires can help a little. Most motors should not have their wires shortened unless they are made of soft silicone like the Castles are. Other wires will be a REAL PAIN to shorten if you want to solder connectors back on.

It doesn't, other than preventing radio interference. Focus on keeping the power wires short, make the ESC to motor wires an appropriate length for your setup, within reason.

I see. I was thinking that cutting down wires on a $250+ esc would be a shame so I don't think I will be doing that...
