    Bigger motor

Just out of curiosity would my ESC support a 4082 running on 4s. My current setup is revolt on 4s- seaking 180 v3 with cap bank with a digital servo. I know this is way to much motor for this hull. A part of me wants to see if I can get this thing up to 80mph.

    Thanks

80 mph will not be attainable for more that a second or two if at all, and you will not get there on 4S. Other than low power, the biggest problem will be what happens after a 70 plus mph crash, the hull will not be strong enough to survive. Plus the hull has too much lift to stay on the water at 80. Few monos reach 80 mph, good luck if you try. A better solution is to get a more appropriate hull design.

I run a Leo 4082 2200kv on 6S using a T180 V2 with capbank. So your power setup is capable, the boat is not. Nothing against boats like the Revolt and Impulse. They are nice RTR setups but definately not saw boats.

Ok thanks, that's good to know. Would you happen to know which hull(s) could get me into the upper 70's on 4s?

Not on 4S with your current pwr setup. You will have to do alot of experiimenting before you should even try 65mph. Those guys setting records have been doing this, have put in the time aand spent the monies. Do some. Research

Well I'm doing 63mph now I don't see why another 2mph would be that difficult to accomplish, but I get what you're saying.

If another 2mph wasn't that difficult then the records would be broken every weekend. .....when you get close to a hull's limit tenths of mph are difficult. What motor and prop are you running now?

Right now I'm running a 3674 2200kv with an m545 on 4s just did 63.3 the other night. I'm going to do another m545 because this one I was just trying new thing on and it's nothing special. I still haven't played to much with the strut with this prop and I'm still getting my COG just right. Also the entire hull is reinforced with CF.

with Kevin and Darryl...Good to hear you have done the cf inlay that makes a big difference in what your trying to do. Good high C rated lipos, a professionally worked prop from someone like dasboata (Chris) I can highly recommend. Sure would like to see a vid of your boat running we could maybe help even more. To get the most out of that hull you need to be running on the edge IE: Trimmed out to be at the verge of being too air out.

Yup have a prop from Dasboata. The turn fins are ALL the way up and out. It's barely staying in the water and I use nano tech 5000mah 65c quality of the video is awesful though.

Jay, nice ! you got it running smooth and it sounds great. Seems only thing you need is possibly a bit more aggressive prop. DJ

Yeah I do fairly nice props myself. Here is one I'm working on now. I just ordered that Voodoo cupping jig which I'll start playing with that next week. I still have to clean it up etc. image.jpgimage.jpg
