    Looking for motor testers

NOTE - This is not a NAMBA P-Limited thread.

There are a few of us here in IMPBA D4 that are interested in racing LSH, LSO and LS OPC again. This is a one motor class. Put the motor in the hull of your choice, do some prop work and set up the hull. The right hull, set up and prop work usually rules the day. Doesn't hurt to be a good driver too.

The goal of this class is for those of us that like to build hulls, dial them in to perfection and get a little racing in while we do it. It is not a RTR class.

For now we have zeroed in on the TP 3630 10D 2100 KV. This motor is the same can size and bolt pattern as the 2030's so conversion is easy. We are also looking at the TP 3630 11D 1900 KV.

To get started I am seeking individuals that may want to do some motor testing. More heads are better than one. I can get a decent price break on a particular volume of motors. With this price break along with my underwriting I am prepared to set you up with this motor for $50.00 delivered to your door cont-us.
There will be a 4 motor limit per person and the offer expires 9/15/2014.

Please post here if you are interested, your quantities and which KV motors you would like to evaluate. If after this trancastion is completed and you are interested in purchasing more TP motors you are encouraged to contact Steve at OSE.

Post here and I will begin a list.

Prenna - I'll put you down for 3. When I get past 25 I will set this up.

Guy's in the Midwest. Please get on board. Those of us that travel around keeping electric alive are no longer traveling with AQ 2030's. We either get another motor selected or electric is done for. These motors will fit any RTR.

          Thank you montymike.

I assume that you have Jeff and I on the list already. Some of the other FE racers in our group will need to be contacted via phone/email as they don't frequent OSE. (Al, Sam, Dan, Chad, Anatoly, Pruesse, Lee, Darryl from Mendota, P Thomas, etc)

Yes Sean, I got you and Jeff covered. Just sent an e-mail to Lee. I got him checking with his group. I will wait until the Holiday is over and contact the others. We'll give electric racing in the Midwest one more push.

What are the testing parameters Mr. P?
Are they to be tested within their specifications? Or is the testing to see at what point the "motors are the fuse"?
If your testers used this as a guide, the testing would yield information the we all could use.

Thanks for putting this out there.

Hi Tony - just got back from spending the day with wife. Call me back at your convenience. However in about 2 hours I'll watching Wisconsin take on LSU! :) Tomorrow is good too.

Doug S. - This motor testing strategy is called Direct Consumer Product Presentation. We are not looking for a scientific evaluation but a more real world one. Hopefully this evaluation will not be influenced by Manufactures, Racing Associations or racers that have been receiving free or improved equipment.

I believe the skill and knowledge level of the majority of racers and sport boaters is under-estimated. And I do think it is wrong to continually suggest this when there has been a massive out break of bad motors and not just isolated cases. So it is this group that I have decided to interact with on checking out different motors.

Not to suggest there is anything wrong with Dave's racing points. He is on his game as usuall. Most of us are fun runners. Its not that we do not try, but we are not that intent on winning. In our Wisconsin group we don't spend $1,000's of dollars traveling to go after a $5.00 plaque.

With this motor search we hope to lessen our premature motor failures along with trying to re-ignite some Spec racing in D4.

Doug S - Your unbiased moderation with this thread will be greatly appreciated.

The list is going well. Getting e-mails, phone calls and PM's. I expect a flurry after the Holiday.

That's all great Mr. P but my question was a simple one.
Best of luck with the unscientific real world evaluations. Wish you had a Y wind on the list.

As far as the unbiased moderation, you can count on it as usual.
There is a difference between bias, and differing experience, results.

I am hopeful you guys are able to resurrect D4 FE racing.

                          Keep up the good work!
