    Mamba XL2

How you set the Mamba XL2 for rc boating? Replacing fan with water cooling plates?
Any picture is going to help me.
    Thanks

You'll have to remove the fan. Find some cooling tubes and epoxy them in with arctic silver or jb weld. Don't get it wet.

Yes but the holes in the heat sink are square.

I don't have one....yet. I have a hydra ice and have been doing alot of research on how to convert it to water cooling, if it would work in a boat etc. Guy at castle admitted the controller is exactly the same on the inside. Meaning the circuit board is identical. The case is slightly different and so is the software....it says mamba xl2 in the castle link program on the home screen instead of hydra ice.....lol. I've been thinking about buying one and just putting the board in my hydra case after I waterproof it of course!

                    Ray
I have had it for some time now, i saw Tyler G use it in a SAW Q rigger, no cooler... No happy ending.
Try easing in on your setup as you load it more and more it'll show it's colors.
I did not load it hard at all, but that was the plan.

It's not for SAW but, for my Q-Sport Hydro for ovals. Good Idea or Bad? I had a 50% off coupon for Castle from the Nats and I got a cap bank with it coming.

I have the DP 270 and skills to water cool it in case or out...

Does no happy ending mean a good thing or bad?? I assume no smoke at the end is a good thing...???

                        Well
If you think like me then you will do it, glad you can water cool it, i could use it.
Tyler smoked it, not a happy ending... But his was inside a rigger, floatation all around it, no cooling other than the fan which inside a rigger with padding is useless.
I would water cool it and some how use the fan to cool the plates... It's a good ESC, but it needs um... Conforming....
                        =)
                        That's my 2c at least

Thanks, at least it won't be a paper weight sooner than later.

I just want those timing changes in 1 degree increments instead of 2* like SF esc's.

Should I use what LVC on a Castle?? For my 6s2p Whiplash? With SF, we had to turn it off. Looking forward to trying data logging.

                            yes,
LVC is always a good call even with 2p unless you got lots of "moneys" laying around to buy new packs...

I've got it apart. Looks like I'll DP270 the key areas and put it back together. I have a water cool plate I can epoxy on the top with Arctic Silver. Basically a driver board and a FET board. Been here before, done it. At least the driver board unplugs so I can add Dielectric grease if it has none, then it gets sealed, encased in DP270 like I do with SF esc's with the same type connector. I've got the link and software to install. Should be good. So small inside.
