motor timing

i am running a leopard 4082 on 4s with a swordfish pro 220+ esc. i dont know the motor winding. what timing should i be running with that?

You HAVE to know the wind type to optimize the timing. What is the Kv? That will help determine the exact Wind....

On my Leo 4082 2200kv I use 11.5 degrees of timing...on a sk180 esc

Sigh. A "Y" wind can easily use between 10 and 15 degrees of advance. But a "D" wind will overheat with more than 4-5 degrees of advance. You HAVE to know the wind type!
