I don't have any Swordfish ESC, I myself would like to know how they can be programed as you must have read about the discontinuing production of the Castle ICE ESC. This is on my next shopping list.

I was able to calibrate throttle by using steering wheel n plugging esc into channel 1. But I still have other settings I need to set correct? Like the LVC,Timing and start up type. I can not run this then until I get the program card? thx jeff

As said get your self a 2 piece coupling as their much easier to get the flex out, some of the 3 piece ones with the brass insert can be a right pain to get the flex out.

Get either the usb programmer or one of the card things for the Swordfish. USB is better as you can do updates to the firmware.
I don't have the patience to program them with the transmitter, always seem to get lost and confused with all the beeping.
The card with the switches is handy at the pond if you don't bring along a computer.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Spend the $20 and get the Hefie/Swordfish programming box, card with switches always left me wondering, the box tells you what parameters are set. Those older SF 200's are very good controllers IMO. Pushed em hard with 1520 motors so a 1515 is a piece of cake. Add a couple caps for insurance.

Yes I just ordered the $20 program card. I have the ESC running motor now. My question is can I try a few test runs with boat even tho I haven't programmed the ESC with the card Im now waiting for? Thx Jeff

EDIT: Since timing is Auto, I think you are o.k. as long as you did your Throttle Calibration as you should with these esc's. It also has auto settings for other parameters, so you can run it, just check up on it after a minute of running, like any other new setup to make sure it is not getting too hot.

If your boat get water inside try to put the esc on a raised plate because the esc has some coatiing but, may not be 100% water proof.
