    Leopard motor issues

Has anyone had any issues with Leopard motors glitching a bit when getting water in them?

It seems that when I have excessive water sloshing around in the hull (a cup or so) one or both of my leopard motors will act up sputtering back and forth, its almost like if you tried to run in with only 2 of the 3 motor leads connected.

Im almost positive it does this because of a bit of water entering the motor as it only acts up when there is excessive water in the boat.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what I am talking about?

    If so, any solutions?

(I am running dual Leopard 700KV on 12s with dual CC Hyrda Ice 2 HV 200s)

    Thanks.

The best solution is to eliminate the water in the hull. Electronics and water never did mix to well so that is your best bet. No water ...no problem.

It is more likely from the plug/connection to the rx getting wet I would think, or getting into the esc itself.

Agreed but I will tell you this. I flipped boat today and never had any problems and mouthwash water never gets allot in my hull. But it took Maher a good min to get my boat out. So it ended up with a good cup or two of water in it. My motor started to glitch but I pulled the boat out and did everything off and plugged everything back up and ended up having to recalibrate my esc throttle position and it created it up. Just a thought might not be your problem but very similar to mine and my boat Is great now.

More likely one of your other electronics, esc or rx as kevin mentioned

I feel like if it was the ESC getting wet it would not ever recover after drying out. When I have this problem (maybe one out of every ten runs) I have to let the boat sit atleast overnight for the problem to stop, no recalibration is ever required which leads me to believe that it is the motor getting water in it.

But then again I never thought of the issue being the servo lead getting wet.

Either way though dryer is better I guess....

              Well you asked.
Just keep it dry, if you can
