    Help with motor selection

    Well after my my k&b .45 outboard went into self destruct mode I have decided its time for brushless, but I have no idea as to what size and kv rating motor I need to acheive atleast 60mph

    To start, we need to know that type of hull you are using (hydro, mono, cat etc) and how long the hull is. Do you intend to race the boat as an electric?

      About 1400 to 1600 KV motor, 1600 = smaller prop for tunnel.
      240 amp esc, 6s Dinogy battery.

          Its a 34" tunnel, just racing with a few mates

            Yeah, you can rip off the old slimer and with an adapter plate attach the motor onto the lower unit. Since this is the K&B unit I suspect there is an adapter plate made for it.
            I had one of these in a Prather Lap Cat. Sold the boat and motor...now wish I hadn't.
