My 2011-vintage 1527/0.5Y has an outer diameter of 1.579" or 40.1 mm.

        Gil,

It will depend on the "vintage" of motor. I have found that the older style two-piece can's almost always have a 39mm can diameter, where as the newer style cans with three-piece design have a 40mm diameter. Today the 1506-1515's still have a 39mm can diameter, but 1521-1530's have 40mm can diameter.

I wish it was that easy Tyler. My 2009-vintage 2-piece 1527/1.5D measures 1.575" or 40.00 mm. Actually all of my 1527s are nominally 40mm.

I have a 2007 1527 that measures 39mm. It has the output side and can machined as a single piece like the current 1515's.
