I am planning to install this outrunner

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=26502

and a Seaking 180 amp esc in a hobbyking vanquish on 2 5000mah 40c turnigys wired in series for 4s

where would be a good place to start with a prop? I am only looking for a 30-35 mph sport boat

That outrunner is a mere 1600 watts for a 40" hull?
Not going to go fast and it will heat up some. You would be much better off with the red helicopter motors they sell for a boat.

I understand you only want 30-35 but, you could do it with allot less heat with the red Heli motors like this:

On 4S it would run well on 1P. Start with a 42mm prop.

What would really move out nice on 6S is the 1330Kv version.

They also have an 1800'ish kv version.
