    New Hobbyking motor

Would this be equal in power to a 2028?Castle is very secretive about spec and what battery s count would you need?

      At 55x92mm it's clearly smaller than a castle 2028.

In many boats you'd need 10S to keep the prop size reasonable. Converted gas boats could use 8S and gas props. The 2028 is clearly much more powerful as it can handle over 7000 watts versus 5280 for the HK motor....

Yeah, I knew it was a tad smaller, but the can, wires and wire exit looks alot like Castle stuff. The 2028 is definately larger at 56 x 113.

Yeah, I get that...it's definitely more comparable to a leopard 5692 though than a castle 2028...it's actually slightly smaller than the 5692.
It might be good for 1/5 scale cars and stuff, or guys that are on a budget and want to make their own jackets...the 5692 motors they were selling before would likely be a better choice though, since they didn't have fins and would accept a standard cooling can.

It's re-branded Toro or Sky-Rc, much cheaper but, no need.

These are absolutely a 5692 just with a nicer candy wrapper......I just recieved mine , Like Jay mentions above ( Fluid ) the 2028's are more powerfull as the Neu 2230 are more powerfull still and if you got the desire and $$$$ The Lehner 3080's are the cream of the crop but lets not get ahead of our selves....sorry . $96.00 for a 5692 type motor and with lots of bling IMHO is a steal .

OK go ahead and flame me..................

I have taken the 5692 & 2028 apart and the internals are larger on the 2028's = more power at the same KV , As with the 2230's and Lehner 3080's....and like most woman claim size does matter........

Is it as large as the 5692? I was under the impression that it was 55mm at the fins, so I assumed it was actually a few mm smaller than the 5692.

Keith they are the same motor internally but yes it is 55mm - much like Neu's 1415 and 1515 internally are the same motors . shaving 1 mm off of a 56 mm motor is a very easy thing to do .

And for only 100beans, can't go wrong with over powering a smaller hull or something..
Wish they had a 1000 and 540kv versions..
