I'm new to the electric rc game. Recently picked up a Traxxas Blast. Put a Spektrum MR200 reciever in it with a DX2E transmitter. It was working fine one day took the battery out and put it up for the night. Charged the battery. Woke up next morning put the battery in turned everything on and no go. Turning servo is all good. It turns fine. Light on my esc comes on when I pull the throttle trigger. Gets brighter as I pull the trigger harder. I'm guessing the motor is fried but not sure... Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated...

is that a brushless motor or brushed?? i had the same problem with my miss geico and after trying 3 esc's i found that one of the motor wire connectors had come unsolderd, couldnt see it cuz the heatshrienk was covering it, try pulling om the motor wires to see if one has come apart they are not solderd well from the factory.. PS to no if its brushless or brushed motor the brushless has 3 wires and the brushed has 2 wires.. -
It's a brushed traxxas stinger 20-turn motor. All of the wires are soldered good. Theres no heat shrink covering it...Comment

Hum, do you have any other brushed motors or an extra esc laying around to substitute inplace of the origianls so you can try and see if its the motor dead or the esc not putting power to the motor??Comment

Nope... I think I'm gonna take it to the local hobbytown tomorrow and see if they can help me out... I've only had the thing for 2 weeks and bought it there... Just figured I'd ask you guys so maybe I could fix it myself...Comment

Yup no prob man... Thanks... I stumbled upon this forum looking for info on other boats. I read the thread about christians mystic for like 5hrs the other night... I'm in complete awe of the speed and power you can get out of FE boats. I wanna build a 55+ inch cat for my next boat... Gonna put some different parts in this boat and get some experience building that way and then do a complete build...Comment

well def building a simple boat first is the way to go. building a 55 inch cat requires a bit of knowledge lol! hopefully you can figure out you blast issue =)Comment

Cool bud,, im sure if you look around on here alittle you can find a thread of putting alittle cheap brushless system in the Blast and make it a real ''blast'' hahaha.. for sure dont dive into a big cat they are very difficult to do and a twin drive is even harder,, if you want you can click on my name and go to my profile, scrole down and see my Albums(pics) of my boats... there is a black carbonfiber twin in there( was very hard to do) have a look..Comment

Yeah i may just go ahead and buy a new motor n esc tomorrow. I looked at a traxxas vxl-3s esc and 3500kv motor combo the other day. They're both brushless and it'll definitely make my blast a "blast" lol... Btw i looked at ur carbon cat and that thing is sick as hell...Comment

Hum the vxl maybe to big for that boat,, what length and width is it, you may want to go to Hobbyking.com and look at some of there realy cheap motors and such,, alot of us use there stuff..Comment

It's a 24" mono... And the beam is about 6"... The guy at hobbytown said it should bolt right in and not be a problem with that boat... Only reason I would wanna try the traxxas setup is theres space constrictions in the blast and the way the wires come out of diff motors i dont think would work very easily without completely redoing the mounts, stuffing tube and drive gear right this secondComment

well figured out that it was the motor that fried... got an axial replacement for it cheap and completely solved the problem...Comment
