Would anyone happen to have the motor specs to input into FE Calc for the castle 2028 780kv motor? I tried contacting Castle support and the response I received was less than informative . Thanks ahead for any .

What "specs" do you need? I'm pretty sure its a D wind, it's 56 x 113mm, 4 pole and 780kv, and max voltage of 10s. I have pushed 8000 watts out of it.
Your probably right that its a "D" winding but something is nagging at the back of the ole brain bucket and I thought the Castle 2028 was a 1Y? Doesnt really matter but I know the Sirius 2028 (pretty much an exact castle 2028 copy) is advertised as a 1Y. Has anyone here on OSE purchased any of the many Castle motor copies and ran it? The company makes a 1512, 1515,1717 and a 2028 copy of the Castle motor line.
I apologize for the delayed response to your e-mail. Unfortunately we do not have all of the technical specs for our car motors. Generally car applications do not require all of these details and were never released by the engineers. It is a 4-pole magnet, 12-pole stator and is a 1Y. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

And then the 2nd when I wasn't satisfied;
John, The 2028 is 780kv, and uses Neodymium magnets in a 4-pole configuration. In a car/truck application, the motor is warrantied to 8s, and in a proper boat set up, it is warrantied to 10s. The motor weighs 44 oz, but we do not publish any amp ratings or resistance to the public.
If you have any further questions, please e-mail or call the Tech Support line below.

Would anyone know how to properly measure the resistance of the motor? Thanks for any help!

I've tried, but can't find them for sale anywhere, and can't even get a message to them requesting pricing for bulk orders.

I know what you mean. Been a couple weeks since I emailed their sales link. And all I really wanted was rotors anyways (they sell them for the 1518,1520, 1717 and the 2028!) as replacements for my current motors. I'm not going to order them from the UK company. Their advertised prices dont look all that great to me. Sorry to hijack your thread John!

I'm glad this was straightened out. I know racers using this motor with 10-15* of timing advance without overheating - that much timing on a "D" motor should make it run very hot.

Hey John we went to the pond last night to test that Dumas hull my son got from you. A guy stopped by with a big 70"+ v-hull with one of the big "pop can" motors on 12s. Not sure but he might be back on tuesdays with us. Way too fast for that pond. lol
Their site must be flooded since you can't get on there very well. The 1717's say out of stock but, in forums they say the 1512, 1515 and 1717 should be in stock soon. The 2028 something happenned and that won't be around until at least August.
