    motor help

HI guys.. im still haveing trouble understanding these elc motors.

I have been told to try and keep the rpm in 25000 to 35000 range ??? true or false

if true and i want to run a 5/6s sys. and i take kv x volts = rpm. This just my thinking and if im missing something Please let me no
    1600kv x 18.5 = 29600 mid road good
    1600kv x 22.2 = 35520 maxed out
    1400kv x 18.5 = 25900 low side but good
    1400kv x 22.2 = 31080 mid road good

Im thinking the 1400kv would be happyier

    Your math is correct Don.

But we need more info on what you are trying to achieve, which hull, motor(s), props, ESC, and so on. Are you building an Offshore race boat, SAW, or just fun boating? JIM

more of just having some good fast fun
i have a 60mph nitro v and now trying to do a cat in elc.
      37 Daytona single w/ TP 4092/1600kv and a FC 8s 300a esc m445

I have been told that would be a great combo and would be happy running on 5/6s. by a very reputable boater.

this will be my first FE build and im trying to do it right, but have a lot to learn about these motors and esc

by looking at the math only im thinking 1400kv but i know im missing something

Thanks and all help is appreciated
