i bought an Ammo 36/40 2900 kv inrunner cheap from tower. it's just lying around. i more recently bought a tenshock samauri here, originally from mini cat racing. i'm dying to put this ammo motor in SOMETHING. the samauri seems a lot lighter than a ul-1; i figure the ammo motor might go there running on 4s (instead of a 1500kv 36-50 motor). salir, or anyone else: what do you think of this? btw i'm using a turnigy plush 60 amp esc i had lying around, along with a water cooling plate i had lying around....

The specs you see on motors does not apply to use in boats, their for cars that are geared or planes including ducted fan. Theirs very little load or amp draw compared with in a boat. As said thats more suited to 3s, that will still give 32000rpm unloaded which is the area you need to be in. 5s will give 53000rpm unloaded.Comment

ok, so basically the kv rating is too high. that's what i was wondering. this cat boat is set up for 2 batteries. and i'm not going to run it with one 3s on one side and dead weight on the other. so this is another boat this motor won't go into.... thanks!Comment
