    Performance difference between Leopard 4092 & 4082

I was going to use a Leopard 4082 - 1600kv on 6s for a reasonable budget build in an Osprey 41" mono, anyone know if the Leopard 4092 - 1390kv on 6s would be faster. Bearing in mind the 4082 1600kv would have quite an rpm advantage against the lower rpm but larger prop on the 4092 1390 kv. not sure if the slightly larger prop would make up for the lower rpm. Thanks Martin.

For a boat that size I'd go with the larger motor. That hull will need a prop in the 50-55mm range as a minimum, beyond what the 4082 should turn safely. The 4092 should spin a larger prop, at least a 50mm. The smaller props the 4082 uses may spin faster, but the prop efficiency will be reduced. You'll still be turning in the 28,000 rpm range, a lot more appropriate for props you'd use on a boat that size.

Personally, I'd upgrade to the Leopard 5692/1340 motor, it will run cooler and faster in that large boat. Regardless of the motor you choose, use an ESC capable of 180-200 amps and 8S as a minimum.

      ^^^I agree with everything here.^^^

If it were my boat I would use the 1090kv 5692 or 1050kv 5682 and run 8s-9s, but I'm guessing you don't want to run HV, so the next best thing would be the 1390kv 5692.
