Just wondering, can the motor wires be cut shorter without affecting the windings on the leopards some motors it's ok, others you can't
Could do with a tidy up. and this would help.
Dont shorten the wires their part of the windings, i have a Leopard 4074 motor in front of me with the end caps removed as im machining cooling slots in the caps. If you shorten them you then have to remove every trace of the insulating coating that is on the wires before you can solder connectors on. Martin.
Thanks Martin I will just tuck them away.
I have a 28mm Leopard with the ends slotted I'm sure it makes more power than the other one I had that had solid end caps.
What you running your 40740 motor in?
Im not running the 4074 in anything yet just modding the end caps for when i do, i might put it in a JAE21 hydro that im going to build if i dont use a Leopard 3674. Yes i have some 28 series leopards one has the slots in the caps, i did hear that they may also be using more magnets in the new motors that may account for better performance over the older model but thats only what i heard somewhere.
