Ill be beginning making my Drifter L into a twin in the near future. Its going to be set up as an un-official SAW boat. I plan on using 2200kv Leopard motors or Neu's. I realize the Neu would be the wiser choice, so Ill see whats in stock here when Im ready to order the motors. As for the Leopard, Ive been looking at the 4074 and the 4082 both in 2200kv flavor. I know the 4082 will make more power, but I believe, if memory serves me correctly, they ran hot on 4s? This build will be ran on 6s. Yes, Im aware of the high rpm of this set up. This wont be my first high rpm twin build. As for the new guys here, dont run this kv on 6s and dont run it as a twin until you have some experience in FE first. I dont want to put this in anyones mind that is ok to run and be reliable.

Not really. I m hoping someone with the 4082 2200kv leopard will chime in and give some info and temps on this motor. Im curious about the leopard because of the 3 Ive had, Im very impressed with them. As for blowing a motor, of course Id rather cook a Leopard instead of a $200 Neu.Comment

I have a 4082 2200kv in my Shaman Tunnel (32 inches) on 4S and it rocks! Runs right at about 60 in heat race trim. Motor usually comes back around 100F, SF200A speedy 135F, batt 105F.
Don't have any info on 6S, but I did set an IMPBA Q Tunnel record last year at Huntsville with a Neu 1515 (2200kv) on 6S in a Lynx tunnel (29.5 inches) of 68.8 mph @ 3.287 seconds. It fell a week later to Mike L. and Dick L.
But yeah, 2200kv on 6S is a little on the hot side and is asking for...Current IMPBA P-O/B Tunnel SAW record holder with avg time of 3.358 seconds @ 67.004 MPH.
Owner Worlds fastest record setting Lynx with average time of 3.287 seconds @ 68.451 MPH.

Sure it is, but as stated in the first post this is a SAW-only setup.Current IMPBA P-O/B Tunnel SAW record holder with avg time of 3.358 seconds @ 67.004 MPH.

Sure it is, but as stated in the first post this is a SAW-only setup. As long as he does not run too long, makes only a few passes and comes in, he'll be okay. I've run what he does in singles and it works; dividing the load between two motors can only help.. The ESC is the weak link.
