    Leopard 4074 1800kv questions

I just got a new 4074 1800kv leopard motor. When I spin the shaft by hand the notches feel weak. Nothing like my leopard 4082 1500kv motor. Even my stock MG motor is harder to turn then this 4074 motor that's bigger. What gives? Is that normal?

Also what should the timing be on a leopard 4074 1800kv?

theyre just different winds i believe. the mg motor is a 2 pole i think and yes it is hard to turn. sounds normal to me. all my motors have a different feel when you turn them…regardless of their size.

Like all of the "limited" motors, the MG motor has 6 poles. The Leopard 4082 is a "D" wind motor and would prefer low timing advance. The 4074/1800 is not listed on the Leopard site, but the other 4074s are all "Y" wind motors Those usually prefer medium timing, 10-15 degrees.

Thanks fluid. I just wasn't sure because I couldn't find any specs. I have written leopard hobby about what the specs are. But no reply yet. I was thinking I'd just start at 0 to be safe. I'll try 15 as well.

Yeah I know. Just wanted to post what little info I did get. I did reply to their email and asked what type of wind it was. Hope I get a reply back.
