tacon vs leopard whats the difference???

Is there any difference between a tacon motor and a leopard motor? According to specs they are the same on paper. The 4074 2000kv both put out 2600 watts same size can but there's almost $40 difference in price

Using the search feature is a nice tool, but I don't want OSE to become like other forums that hammer new users (or any users) for not using the search before posting. So please don't get started on that. The search is an option, not a requirement.

              Amen!

It's amazing how on some of those "other" forums, if a question is asked that can't be answered with a search, it goes unanswered.

              To the OP:
I'm running a Tacon 3674 in my cat and it's performed quite well. I know a couple people that run them in off road vehicles too and the same can be said there.
I'm not saying it's the same as a Leopard, but the Tacon motor seems to be a great value either way.

+1 on that, I always hated that answer when asking ?s. If all the answers were in the past posts and everyone found their answer with the search then there wouldn't be much of a forum anymore.

What's funny is I ordered the tacon 2000kv and received a reciept for a leopard 2000kv so maybe they will send me that instead. I see on the other posts that it has happend but ordering a leopard and receiving a tacon maybe they are the same but for the price difference ill be happy to try cause I love my 4074 2200kv leopard

I have a Tacon 2150kv, 4074 in my Muggy conversion and its a monster! I'm going to take it along with me next outing to try it in the MG and see how it does. For the money, they are great and I saw no difference between it and the leopard 2200 I had in my Genesis. The rotor is a bit on the small side and wrapped in graphite, but other than that the stator looks decent.
