Leopard 5692 timing?

Where are you guys setting the timing and pwm for this motor? I am going to be running it in a very heavy 1/8 scale hydro, CC240HV, 8S, mostly like an Octura X450 prop.

Any info regarding your settings for this motor will be greatly appreciated.

I will give you mine input since i own one....
I had trouble configuring the PWM and timing for this motor, in the first instance, using a schulze 32-200WK.
I contacted schulze, but they haven´t been very helpfull telling that i had a defected motor.

The motor in mine MGM compro works good and the same happens with the YGE 160NAVY.

From mine experience 4 pole motor, with Y windings i use higher timing and 12khz pwm.

....It won´t work.. with high timing...it looses sync at full trohttle.

if i use 2ºdegrees timing and 8khz pwm it works good...

Which motor Jim? One is a 'D' wind and the other a 'Y' wind. Clearly the 'D' wind will not take as much timing as the 'Y' will. I don't have either motor but know that most inrunner 'D' wind motors like low timing while 'Y' winds like more.

Castle recommends 12 KHz for inrunners (except for very low inductance motors - which the 5692 is not!).

I spoke with Joe Ford at Castle today. He said the 5692 is a 4 pole Y wind. He said to use "standard (castle setting) or LOWER and 12Khz PWM.

Guess we shall see whenever I get around to it and whenever I find my CC240HV in my shop! Haha.

Jim, like Jay said it's all about the wind. I run my leopard y wind motors on 15* timing. Here's the spec sheet from Leopard. Example you can run higher timing on the 1090kv, but the 1000kv motor would run better with lower timing.

Here's some info from Neu's site:

Use low (0-10 degrees)or medium(10-15 degrees) advance settings for “Y” wind motors and low (0-10 degrees) advance settings for “D” wind versions.
