Installed a castle 1800kv motor and turnigy 125 amp esc, im running a x642 and id like to know where this set up would be best to run on timming wise and battery maxx, i took it for a test run on 4s then 5s then 6s and got some high temps on esc, couldnt open her up due to choppy water, im getting 125 degrees at the esc and water is feezing cold, motor and battery are cold, dont wanna burn anything up. any advice would be appricated

5s max. 15 degrees timing. 125 isnt too bad on the esc. Was this on the caps or?..

temp was probably from spikes while running 6s. 5s should be your max if you want good temps.

whole idea behind this is to get some power out of it, im not totally sure where the timming is on the esc, im going to check it, the esc when i got it was a paralel set up....dunno if that means anything and im in series now

Ran the same motor in mine on 6s with no trouble. You might be a little aggressive on your prop selection. I was running a m440.

I'd recommend 7.5 timing on that motor, i had best speed readings on mine at that, my temps were real cool though, If your wanting to run 6s i would highly recommend throwing a T180 in her, your temps would be way lower too.

try a x 442 might not be letting the motor wind out, just as an example on different boat i was using a x645 motor was very warm switched to a x447 gained 5 mph and temps were cooler

i like the seaking 180, been good so far, im gonna make sure that esc is set correct then run again and hopefully get some serious passes in and check the temps
