It's a custom wind for OSE, not on the Leopard website. The 4084s use both types of winds....

If you compare it to 4 pole motors of the same or similar case length it appears to be a 1.5D winding but like Jay said. Its a custom wind for OSE and most likely Steve knows.

Most of the 40mm series leopard are Y winds, the only exception posted at leopard is the 4082 1450kv. Every other is a Y. http://www.leopardhobby.com/product/...ionID=01020201

Id been talking w/ Deisel about it, I think Im going to try bumping my timing up. (currently at 0) Its running a bit warmer than I would have expected turning 40 and 42mm props on 4S. Deisel's running the same boat, same KV but the 74mm and able to swing a much larger prop and running cooler. Race day is tomorrow, nothing like testing while turning laps.

I got three runs on it at the Club races today. I bumped the timing up to 15.. or 7-15, whatever the Etti 150 lets you do. First two runs were EXTREMELY rough conditions where I couldnt hold WOT very often. It was a 90 degree cross chop at about 5". Kinda rough on a 33" Pursuit. Anyway, both first and second run on the stock pursuit prop which is about a 42.49mm prop, back cut and extreme detongue is how it comes stock, both ran about 136 on the esc and 116 on the motor. the 3rd run was in much much better conditions, 5 or 6 laps around a 1/6 mile course and WOT about 97% of the run and the esc was 124 and the motor was under 100F. Seems to be a little less stress on the esc onthe higher timing compared to running similar laps behind my house in glass conditions yesterday. Most importantly now, I need to shop for a larger amp esc.....

I hope to get some eagle tree data on both timing settings in the near future along w/ gps readings.

Ettis 150 Opto. It pulled 136A on 0 timing yesterday behind the house. Another guy at the club debuted his eact same boat w/ mine today and ran a Leopard 4074 2350 (the special wind from OSE that a few of us got) on a T-180, running the same prop I did and his ESC never broke 100.

Sounds like your making some progress. Not running wot most of the time may accounted to the high esc temp and the motor unloading & loading from the rough waves may accounted to your temp raise on the motor. Seems like the last run is what you can count on more. Not breaking 100f on the motor compared to your yesterday temps on the motor your moving in the right direction!

Yeah I think so. As you and I discussed, my motors been running acceptable temps, before it wasnt as cool as I would have guessed, but still not hot. The ESC is what was concerning me most. Ive got a 180 on the way.

T-180 should rock with that. Yea it wasn't hot, but now the timing is better it should run super cool....

                          Man, I love those esc's!!!!

                              HAHAHA..

Funny you said that because I been re-thinking the sale of my Genesis as well. Still wish I had it. I want to try the motor you have on that hull the 4082 2200kv in that cat might run pretty darn good. JMO of course.
