    Motor & Motor mount question

    25" DF knockoff R2hobbies prince.

    4mm prop shaft

Im about to start rebuilding this boat. I currently have a 380 XL motor and a 540 motor for it. I bought the 540-380 mount:
    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80230

Im thinking to the future a bit- Would the Leopard 4074 motors work well in this boat or would it be to much motor?

Im thinking of getting this mount:
    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80600

And not using the rear ring until I install a Leopard. Now the question- will this mount work with the standard 540 motors AND the 380?

A leopard 4074 is a WHOLE lot of motor for a 25" mono. JMO. I would use SV or Ul1power myself, a ammo 2300 would work well also.

    Is this the boat http://www.r2hobbies.com/eng/proddet...t0401002_code?

      No:

Its that hull but with the Stinger drive from R2 Hobbies. I bought it from R2 but they discontinued it.

I dont want to get to much motor into it. I already have that problem with another boat...

Anyone else? If its the general consensus its to big I will just use what I got and plan a Leopard in another boat

O ok I got thrown of a little with the r2hobbies. Those are sweet boats. Their are guys runing 1515's in those boat and hitting mid to high 50s in those hulls. Their are tons of different set-up's you could use with that boat, depends what you want really. You want crazy speed or just sport? If you really wanted to use the leopard you could, just prop small. I use a vac-u-pickle mount with my leopard.

Well I just run for fun, nobody else around here does electric I know of. Well there is a gas (not nitro) guy thats supposedly having a JAE rigger built and using the UL1 power.

Right now I have the two motors based around 3S- with about 3,000KV motors. The 380 is an X power and the 540 a KB.

Well I guess I will continue on with what I got. Sounds like it should be more than enough.

Now that I have eagle tree I will be able to tell you guys what its truly doing- not what I would like to think it is... lol
