    Cap Pack sizes

I have the Sea King 180 ESC running on the stock 6s cap pack & battery configuration.
Can I safely replace the stock cap pack with one rated for 8s battery configuration.
If so would this help reduce the heat of the cap pack during operation on the 6s set up?

    Thanks for replies.

If the esc is rated to 6s then that’s as high as you can go safely. A higher voltage cap pack won’t increase the voltage of the esc internally.

Yes, it will be safe. No, it won't necessarily solve your heat issue without knowing the cause. In general, more capacitance is better, but there are many nuances to selecting the proper cap bank including the number of caps, their size and electrical specs, quality of components used, how they're wired to one other, and how far from the ESC they're placed on the power leads.

But don?t attempt to use 8s. It?ll ruin your esc.
