Seaking 180 V3 problems.

Hi all was out last week with my JAE .21 RIGGER running a Leopard 3674 2200 KV motor 4s 5000 mah lipo and a ABC H-4 prop with the sk 180v3 esc run for 30 seconds and boat stopped upon retrieval un taped the hatch esc and motor where cold steering servo still worked and when i pulled the throttle lever the motor was shuttering and a red light is blinking on the esc. I hooked up my Swordfish esc and the motor works good. There was also no burning smell of any sorts. I have run the sk 180 v3 for about 3 or 4 years. What may be the problem here.
