Software issues

I just checked my control panel... yes, it's XP and I see I have two versions of software installed.

V4.03 and V4.11

Does this cause a conflict when using the usb stick programming software or do I have some other problem trying to connect? It could be a USB issue too but I'd like to try and see if I should remove one from the computer.

If I remove one, is newer always better?

There is no confliction to have both software in your computer, also there's no affact to other one when remove v4.03.
