    Hifei frustration

I can make my way through a computer, but like many of us I am no expert, so why does it seem that Hifei software/firmware is such a complicated PITA to deal with from their site? I cannot get the V4.11 software to set up and run, not sure what hoops I need to jump through there.......They told me to open it with google chrome, and save it on a drive other than "C"......I'll have to search the threads cause I know I've seen others scratching thier heads there.......

Then I just "upgraded" my 240pro+hv via the site, now it cuts out after 2 seconds, even out of the water with no load! Tried going back to the previous software, nope....tried other batts, rx batt, lvc settings.....nothing gets it back working.

This was what I had to go thru, the link:http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...-Swordfish-esc
It may or may not apply to your situation but will save you a bit of time searching.
    Good luck.

Thanks Tlandauer, I had already been reading that, and had actually sent Alexgar a message. In the meantime, I actually managed to get it to work! With a little research, I downloaded a free RAR file opening program herehttp://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-b...-10007677.html Apparently it's similar to a zip file, but I had no program to deal with it. Opened it and saved it, worked like a charm! I also opened up the firmware for the esc, and realized I was previously trying to use the older firmware, likely causing my problem. My ESC is a Pro+ II, didn't realize the firmware changed with the new design that has the extra set of cooling tubes, in short, the boat appears to be working fine now as well.
