What ESC killed a swordfish 120

I have a revolt 30. I changed the motor to a 1512 2650kv castle with a swordfish 120 with data logging. I was running on 4s with a stock prop doing some testing. After a 2 minute run there was some brown fluid by the capacitors. After looking at the data it showed 118 amps and temps were 100°. Fast forwarded a week to today I plug in the esc boat and I got nothing. Changed the receiver that didnt work. Put a car esc in and the motor ran fine. So my question is for 4s and 6s what esc for this motor? I do know this motor is a higher kv then most here are running. Any advice would be great thanks.

Best advice: don't run 6S on that motor, you will see more than just "brown fluid". A Castle ICE240 would be fine. I have been running ICE200 controllers for planes with a 30mm fan, they work well in cats and monos. I have also modified some ICE200 Lites with water cooling, much smaller and work great.

118 amps was the maximum or the average? What prop? Did you have the temperature set on *F or *C?

Not sure about the amps, that is what the hand held swordfish box said. I could not review the log my flash stick for it will now work. As fot the temps I used my temp gun. The temp was in F*. Ok so no 6s, I figured that would be pushing it abit. The stock prop is a grimracer 42 mm 55 pitch prop.

You are running a prop load for a smaller 1800kv motor on 4S. Unloaded rpm 26640. Your 1512 2650kv on 4S is 39220 rpm and 58830 rpm on 6S. 6S not a good idea A Swordy 200-220 might work on 4S. Your 120 SF was overloaded. I have run that motor on 4S with a 240 ICE and it worked well. That "little" Castle pulls as hard as my 1515 Neu's. For SAW use it spikes well over 200 amps.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like I'll be getting a castle 240 esc soon as well as a few smaller props.

Turns out its not blow. Plugged a rx battery pack in to the receiver and it worked. Now its working on its own again. Im going to hang on to it for now. But will be getting a better esc.
