    300 Swordfish question? 80% throttle

I am having an issue with my SF300. On 4S it accelerates full on then immediately drops back to about 80% throttle. Works consitantly there till I back off and fully accelerate again. LVC is set at 3.0v and the lowest it can be set is 2.5v so you can't dissable it. looking at the data logger it spikes monentarily about 250 amps then levels off to about 120 or so. 37000 + rpm spike then levels off around 24K. Consistant with what it looks like on the water. Neu 1521/1D 2900kv turning a 545 on an outboard tunnel. Dynogy 65c batteries 6.5mm connectors. Tried 2 different ones. Any ideas? Cold solder joint

Do you have it set to auto detect cells? Try setting to 4s.

Do you have the recorded data off it showing amps and throttle percent?

Not sure if I got this right. Current spiked to 250 then leveled off in the 160-170 amp range (green line) (throttle -blue line)

Have you tried soft or very soft start?

Do you have another radio to try? Is your trim set to max for forward throttle?

Radio is at 100% but won't hurt to try another.
One thing that doesn't make sense to me is the ESC comes with dual battery leads. I would assume they did that for an easy parallel battery hookup but in the instructions are specific not to do parallel batteries separately. + and - are the same point electrically but the instructions specify the batteries wired in parallel first then conected to 2 joined positive and negative wires. So with a 1P I put a 6.5mm "T" conection to the two black wires and another to the joined (T) red positive. So in a way I am going through 2 sets of bullets. Would the extra resistance cause a uniform drop to 80% throttle? Maybe I will take the indidual wire bullets off and solder two supply wires together in one bullet eliminating the "T". which shouldn't be any different in resistance than a safety loop.
Hope to get on the water again in a few days.

That shouldn't affect it. Looking at the graph you can clearly see the throttle drop off so it looks like it's losing signal from the receiver. You may also try recalibrating the esc to your transmitter. I may get comments about this, but have you tried to bench test it to see if it does the same thing? FYI, have the same controller and I'm not seeing this issue. I soldered my power leads together as close to the ESC as I could to avoid the extra bullet connectors.

Well I did what you shouldn't. Made 2 changes. Soldered the wires to one bullet on each polarity and put in a different radio. Seems to be hitting 100& now.

Change the radio and see what happens. Glad it's working though!!
