swordfish Pro 300A cant get it programed, can any one help

i am new at RC race boats. At it about 3 months. Think I am over my head. Problem: my 300 A Swardfish Pro will not program. I placed the cd in the computer and all I get is the instructions. I follow the instructions plug the hifei usb linker into the computer and have it connected to the battery but when I try to run the cd all I get is the picture of the jet plane. The page will not allow me to do anything. I am wondering if my computer software might be the problem. Is there any other way to program this thing with out using the computer? Thanks for any help .
