i cant really help as i havent ran a nue or a cc hydra hopfully some of the guys with experiance on these will chime in as there was somthing serious wrong for it to go up like that, then again seems to be a lot off cc pop tarts going off
Is it a HV or LV? If its a LV Castle and many others have warned against running it at its max voltage. For my 6s boats I only run HV controllers and they have been running great. If its a HV then that is a different story.
My 240 just shorted out and went up in flames and started to cook the batteries at the same time.It was crazy to see smoke pouring out on a high speed run but not fun trying to rip the batts out and esc on fire . I had to submerge the boat under water while i pulled everything apart trying to save the hull.Talk about a nasty stench.LOL But...I beat on this esc for over a year real hard and pushed it to its limits 2 times a week straight.
PT-45, 109mph, finally gave up after last bad crash
H&M 1/8 Miss Bud 73 mph
Chris Craft 16 mph
its a lv on 6s2p neu 1515 1.5y x646 the hull is a h and m drifter 41 inches long i had about 20 runs speeds around 100 -110kph
constant the only thing it can be is water got into the esc
If you have water getting into your hull that can def be the reason. The other problem is running a LV on 6s is just begging for disaster. I know people have had some luck running the LV on 6s...heck I even did it for a few runs but for the most part running a ESC at its max voltage OR amp rating will almost always end the same way...charcoal. That is also a large hull for a small 1515 size motor so I imagine it working pretty hard to push a 41" hull, probably pulling some big amps too.
