    OSE 150 Raider

    Hi Guys,

My OEM esc finally went kaput on my Sonicwake V1. I purchased an OSE Raider 150. I have three other Flycolor ESC's, all 90 amps. I have the program card and set this new esc to 7.5 degrees timing and F&R during the install, and of course did the throttle calibration.

I have a weird issue. This is what it's doing. When running hard and you slow for a turn or wake it hesitates when you pull the throttle to accelerate again. It takes about a second then all is fine again until the next time you slow down.

Here is what I've done so far. Both the throttle trim and steering trim are set to "n", then the knobs are at 12 o'clock. The throttle rate and steering rate are full clockwise. I redid the throttle calibration 2x to no avail, then just for chuckles I did a re-bind. I have the Sonicwake OEM Spectrum transmitter (STX2) and MRX200 receiver. I've not had a radio issue at all. I changed the Punch from 3 to 1 then 5, no difference. I reset it back to 3. At this point I'm at a loss. I can't seem to find anything on the forums about this.

    Suggestions please!

    Thx,

    Bruce Wehr

You should never be slowing down to corner that is when you need the most throttle. Sounds like your boat is mad at you for being a chicken.

Funny...Pond in my back yard is 80' wide.. I've been in the riprap before. While the pond is about 1/4mile long I have a good 300' near my home to get to 50 mph then leaving some room for error maybe 50' to make the turns to run a nice size oval. And if you make a mistake on one end you hit the fountain we turn around or some more riprap.

What kind of batteries are you using? How old are they? It "could" be a voltage sag issue if they're not up to the task. I too would have started with a throttle recalibration, so that's not it either. Does that ESC have a low voltage cutoff setting? If so, try disabling it for a run and see if the results are any different.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have a pair of CNHL 8000/120c that I use for this boat. They were new in December and have 15-20 runs on them. I typically only run 6-7 minutes with an end voltage of 3.7-3.8 per cell. I have never hit the LVC, which was set to 3.2 on the oem unit and is set to 3.2 on this one too. The issue acts up even when the batteries are first installed. No issues on initial acceleration but a lag every time after slowing to turn or to keep from flipping at 47+ mph, another issue I've never been able to resolve. I think it's a bad esc but I'm waiting on OSE to help me diagnose it. No boating tomorrow but I'll try disabling the lvc Wednesday and post. Bruce

Update: LVC wasn't the issue, tried another radio set, that wasn't it either. OSE said to return it under warranty.
