    Issue with ESC or Transmitter

I recently purchased a OSE 150A ESC. I am using a FlySky FS-GT3B transmitter. I have this transmitter binded to two other boats and have had no issues when doing so.

The issue I am having is this. I installed the OSE 150A ESC into my Recoil 2. After binding the transmitter, when I power up the ESC, I get a continuous beep, telling me the throttle is not in the neutral position. When I pull the trigger on the transmitter, it fires up like it should and gives the correct beep tones.

HOWEVER, when I release the trigger to neutral, it acts as if I'm pulling the trigger forward, and when I pull the trigger back, it acts as if it's in neutral. I have never had an issue with this transmitter and binding it with other boats. I have tried adjusting the trim in every way possible. I can't set the throttle range on the ESC due to this issue.

After hours of troubleshooting, I feel like I have a brand new faulty ESC. I hooked up an old Dynamite ESC and it operates as it should, and I have tried binding 2 different transmitters and they are acting the same way the FlySky is.

After looking all over the internet for people having the same issue, I have found nothing. Everyone just says "adjsut your trim on your transmitter and that should fix the problem. Could there be something faulty in the ESC that is causing the transmitter to not read "neutral, when in fact it is in neutral? I've already ordered a new SeaKing 180A ESC because I am at wits end trying to get this OSE 150A ESC to function properly.

    Did you do throttle calibration?

I can't. When I have the transmitter at full throttle and power on the ESC, it acts as if it's powering on normal. When I try to do the throttle calibration, I power on the transmitter, hold it to full throttle, plug a 3s battery in, I get 3 beeps, I release the trigger, and the motor starts spinning. When I pull the trigger, it stops.

This sounds similar to Futaba where you must reverse the throttle channel in the TX in order for the throttle signal to be seen as "normal" by the RX. Otherwise, pulling the trigger gives you the reverse portion of the throttle signal as a result, and you won't be able to calibrate the throttle since its not seeing the values it needs at power up to do so

Futaba is the only manufacturer that I am aware of that requires this reversing of the throttle, but I'm also not personally familiar with your Radio brand. I assume you are using the same RX type in the trouble boat as the other two, so I cant imagine why this one would have any weird requirements that the other two didn't have if so?

Yeah, in the other two boats it works just fine. When I reverse the throttle channel in the TX, it acts the same way, but just reversed. So if it's reversed, when I power ths ESC on, I get a continuous beep. When I put the TX trigger in reverse, it beeps 3 times (3s battery hooked up) and acts like neutral. When I bring the TX trigger back to neutral position, the motor starts spinning.

I'm honestly just dumbfounded because when I hooked up an old Dynamite ESC everything acts as it should.

This is what I do. I turn on the transmitter, then rubber band the trigger to wot. Then power up the ESC. After the initial beeps center the trigger within 5 seconds, wait for it to complete the calibration. Then do not try the esc. Unplug the battery, turn off the transmitter, wait 30 seconds or so, turn on the transmitter and hook up the battery. At that everything should power up normally. I also calibrate at & keep my throttle trim full CW on my boats. All have Flycolor esc's. All are set for F & R. And yes, setting these guys up is a PITA until you have it mastered.
