Neu 1521 jet unit no cooling esc?

    Hi,

So I have a large 1,3m long mono im converting to direct drive, it was a geared belt drive...

I really would like to not drill the hull if I can get away with it but...

    Would a 1521 1Y on 4s driving a 30 (maybe 35mm) jet unit require cooling?

Which ESC should I go for? I have the as26's but they don't work very well with 4 pole hence my purchase of Lehner 2250's for my other boat and these are spare...

I was thinking about longer run times using 10,000mah packs / side... maybe cooling would be needed?

A jet unit will be harder on things than a standard prop setups. A jet sees more of a constant load. So yes water cool ESC and motor. Just tap a fitting to the unit after the impeller and you’ll be good. You can also tap the exiting water into the unit before the impeller.

Oh and most jet units like a lower rpm, say 20’ish thousand.

Hmm, how do these work with NEU motors?

        https://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pr...=ose-R-150C-v2

I could always run them 3s with them ESC, my current ESC are 4-8s so for some reason I just figured in that range...

And cooling... for some reason I have the urge to try and internal cooling system, little bit of a faff but could be cool... weight isn't a issue with this boat so thinking a nitro fuel tank, one of these and some ice cubes https://www.mhz-powerboats.com/shop/...ater-pump?c=81

correction, they are actually 28mm jet units...

Would 2x 1521 1Y on 4s really need cooling spinning a 28mm plastic impeller...? hmm

Have you got a pair of old Graupner drives there?

              Yeah,

anyone care to comment how the OSE esc's work with Neu motors, specifically the 1521 series?
