Having difficultly programming swordfish 300esc with programming card

    Hi guys,

Spent the better part of today trying to program my swordfish 300esc with an installed BEC. Followed the instructions and plugged the program card plug into the back of the left side of the program card but when I pressed the O.K. button all that came up was: default or para settings. I could not get any of the programming steps to appear on the card. Can anyone help me out and tell me how to get the card into the programming mode?

    Thanks,
    Don

    Hi
The SF300 programming with card needs you to use a Y connector between the +-s on programmer, and both the 3 wire servo lead and the 2 wire lead on the esc.
The +- on programmer is for your bec.
When the programmer sees the esc.. it will display an identity of esc.. eg HIFEI SF300

The instructional diagram that comes with this esc does not mention any use of a y connector in either diagram A or B.

The program card is an optional way of setup for these esc. . . Far superior is the usb
That said. . The paperwork with the lcd card had the diagram you seek.20161223_080154.jpg

In the photos above i used an external bec to power the lcd . And the Y connected both servo leads from esc to the box
The lcd paperwork image does the same job.. i was mimicing your efforts, with addition the y.
            Cheers

              Hi drwayne,

This is the diagram that I have been using but without any luck. I have the red/black power wire on the right side of the program box.(looking from the front). What is confusing about the instructions is that there is no mention of what to do with the wire that comes out of the esc that says: "to program box" The instructions say take the receiver lead from the receiver and stick it in the left port. I have a battery hook up and I turn on the esc switch but I can't get into the programming parameters of the esc. The menu will not open up. Do you have any additional advice that might help me out?

              thanks,
              Don

Use a y servo lead ( FFM ) connector.. both the reciever lead and "to program bix" to that y .. the dingke lead of that y goes to left on box .. right on box is 6v from 4AA or bec.

                    Hi again
You will soon find something like this in latest V2 lcd card manuals

Thanks for your suggestions but I couldn't figure out the set up and sent the esc along with a schematic to my friend Randy Naylor in Concord, CA.

Lol.yes. tge printed manual is deficient in catering the needs of sf240 and sf300
                        Best of luck with Randy.

                          Wayne,

What does a Y connector look like? What do you use to get 6 volts d.c. into the right side of the program box?

                          Thanks,
                          Don

                              Hello
Neither the sf240 or 300 esc have internal bec, thus the rx is needing an external 5->6v supply.
If your Rx is a hv unit with more than 6v.. DO NOT use ... get a 4xAA (4.8v)battery pack or 5->6v bec instead.
Plug that 4.8->6v dc source to lcd box (when looking at screen, top right)
Put both esc servo plugs ( 2wire and 3wire) into the sockets on Y lead.. and the single plug on Y lead into remaining socket on lcd.
                              Voila. !

                              cheers
