Is it possible an esc fry and all caps remain in perfect shape due to a lack of water coooling? It should cut power due to the high temp. I'm asking because my esc smoked few seconds after I figured out the water line disconnected from the rudder and after have reconnected it brought the boat(via water) to the pit area to put a tywrap. ...it was my fifth battery of the day and everything was working perfectly. As I'm not an electronics expert it would be great to hear some opinions....... I tend to believe that amps went to the roof with the extra pitch added on that prop a 1450 reduced to 44mm with 3,8 cup.Motor is a custom TPpower 4050 2200kv and esc a T180 V3.on 6S.Thanks Gill

Yeah me too please. I sure don't have the answer Gill. I watched your video. You were moving pretty good but the boat looked nice and light on it's feet.
It could be that the damage was already done with no cooling before you sent it back out. Or maybe you pumped cool water into a blistering hot speedo and broke something that way?
I've yet to injure one of these 180amp units. I've hurt motors on them but was always able to save the ESC.Noisy person -
I got this from Hifei, possible I would guess with current spikes too if above rating:
Swordfish ESC shut down for protection when the temp sensor monitors ESC heat much to 100 centigrade. However, a sudden over-heat (shorter than1 millisecond) is too short and ESC cannot react for shutting down.Comment

Turnigy also shut down for protection but we will never know what happened without data logging...anyway I will get a try to a new 300A lite I have and see how amps are playing with current spikes with this set up.GO FAST AND TURN RIGHT !
